The ‘tail’ is actually the head. The Caddis head is formed of a Fly Eye wrapped with white Antron

Dubbed coarse Hare guard fur. Tapered to give the fly a conical shape

Tying instructions

Tie as per normal peeping caddis but with the above differences. A green version is also figured. Also figured is my tying of the original version with a lead shot on nylon for the weight.

Fishing Instructions

Fish deep on the river bed, usually as the point fly on a multi-fly set up

Interesting facts

One of the trio of flies that won me the Righyni-Roose Trophy (Fly Dressing) from the Grayling Society.
