Reservoir fishing explained

Reservoir Fly Fisherman.png

This section serves as a comprehensive guide for anglers transitioning to larger bodies of water, specifically focusing on Bewl Water. It is structured into three main sections:

Essential Gear:

This section lists necessary equipment for reservoir fishing, such as 10ft #7 or #6 rods, cassette reels for quick line changes, and specific line types like Weight Forward (WF) floaters, intermediates, and Di3 sinkers. It also covers safety and comfort items like life belts, waterproof clothing, and boat seat

Boat Fishing Tactics:

This section introduces the "loch style drifting" method, explaining how to use a drogue to slow the boat's drift and how to retrieve lines effectively while keeping pace with the boat's movement.

Bewl Water Locations & Bank Fishing:

The final section provides a detailed map and specific recommendations for fishing spots based on wind direction, such as Seven Pound Creek or Rosemary Lane. It also includes practical advice on purchasing tickets and parking security.
